Education Collaboration Will Provide Access to Digital Textbooks & Content for Tennessee Schools

May 4, 2017

NASHVILLE, TENN. — Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA), Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents (TOSS), Tennessee Book Company, Tennessee Education Technology Association (TETA) and Thrivist announce their collaboration to expand one of the most extensive, accessible learning repositories available for schools across the state.

The new Tennessee Digital Resources Library will be powered by Tennessee Book Company and Thrivist, a user-first designed platform. Teachers will be able to search various curriculums, designed courses, ebooks and other resources. Whether learning about Andrew Jackson, the history of country music or discussing major US historical events, teachers will have access to the right resources to power student engagement.

"Our collaboration is twofold: the current library will be expanded and courses will be designed that are aligned with Tennessee standards available to districts for a fee," said Todd Svec, vice president K-12 content and general manager for Tennessee Book Company. "This new approach enables us to provide even more digital content for teachers while cutting costs for our school districts."

Tennessee Book Company will help guide this initiative by using their network and partnerships to create a diverse collection of digital content spanning everything from ebooks to videos.

"This next iteration of the Tennessee Digital Resource Library will provide an even better destination for resources and facilitate learning in our classrooms," said Andrew McGarrity, CEO of Thrivist. "We're pleased to offer these digital teaching and resources to empower teachers and better prepare K-12 students for the future."
