John R. Ingram

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

 

John R. Ingram is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Ingram Content Group Inc. He has also held the position of Chairman of the Ingram Industries Inc. Board of Directors since April, 2008, having previously served as Vice Chairman of the Board since 1999.

 

Mr. Ingram is a graduate of Princeton University, where he received his bachelor of arts degree in English in 1984. In 1986 he received his master of business administration degree from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.

 

Mr. Ingram joined Ingram Industries Inc. in 1986, serving as the Assistant Treasurer and also as President of Tennessee Book Company (now a subsidiary of Ingram Content Group) early in his career.
He later served as President of Ingram Book Company, Vice President of Purchasing for Ingram Micro Europe, and Director of Purchasing for Ingram Micro Inc.. He has been a member of the Ingram Micro Inc. Board of Directors since 1996.

 

Mr. Ingram is active as a volunteer in a number of educational and charitable organizations. He is a member of the Board of Trust of Vanderbilt University and the boards of Montgomery Bell Academy and The Harpeth Hall School in Nashville. He was named by Nashville Mayor Karl Dean as Co-Chair of the Mayor’s Green Ribbon Committee on Environmental Sustainability in 2008-2009. In addition, Mr. Ingram is Chairman of the capital campaigns for Vanderbilt Athletics and Currey Ingram Academy.

 

Mr. Ingram is married with four children.

 


Shawn Morin

Chief Operating Officer

 

Shawn Morin is Chief Operating Officer of Ingram Content Group. He leads Ingram’s commercial activities, systems, and operations that serve publishers, libraries, booksellers, and educators, as well as Ingram’s information technology systems.

 

Mr. Morin joined Ingram in 2009 as the Chief Information Officer, leading the VitalSource e-textbook business, launching efficient new internal systems, and managing technological innovations in our digital and print-on-demand businesses.

Prior to Ingram, Mr. Morin served as the Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology with Bass Pro Shops. He has held a variety of leadership positions in the information technology field, including Chief Information Officer of Royal Numico, N.V., Zoetermeer, The Netherlands; business analyst for Watkins Motor Lines; and lead engineer for Lockheed Space Operations Company at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

 

He received his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of South Florida.

 

 

 

 

 


Linda K. Dickert

Chief Legal Officer & General Counsel

 

Linda K. Dickert is Chief Legal Counsel of Ingram Content Group. She joined Ingram Industries Inc. in 1987 as an Associate Litigation Counsel. In 1996, she was named Vice President and General Counsel of Ingram Book Group.

 

Ms. Dickert graduated from the University of Tennessee with Honors and received a bachelor of science degree in communications. She received her law degree from the University of Memphis School of Law. She received her LLM degree in Tax Law from the University of Alabama.

 

 

 

 


Shawn Everson

Chief Commercial Officer

 

Mr. Everson became the Chief Commercial Officer for Ingram Content Group in June 2009. In this role he is responsible for all commercial activities including national accounts, independent bookstores, consumer direct fulfillment, Ingram Periodicals, Spring Arbor, Ingram International, Ingram Library Services and Coutts, as well as our digital offerings to retailers.

 

Shawn joined Ingram in August 2000 as the Director of Operations at Publisher Resources Inc., a 3rd party distributor for book publishers. In May 2002, he was promoted to the role of Vice President of Operations in the LaVergne Distribution Center. In 2005, Shawn became the Vice President of Global Transportation for Ingram Book Group and later headed up Ingram’s International division. In May of 2007, Shawn became the President of Ingram Periodicals Inc.

 

Mr. Everson spent the first 15 years of his professional career at United Parcel Service (UPS) working in a variety of roles as an Industrial Engineer, Project Engineer and Operations manager. Prior to UPS, he was with OshKosh B’Gosh.

 

Mr. Everson holds a BS in Mathematics from Lipscomb University and a MBA from Vanderbilt University.

 

 

 

 


Wayne M. Keegan

Chief Human Resources Officer

 

Wayne M. Keegan is Chief Human Resources Officer for the Ingram Content Group Inc. and has been with the company since 2000.

 

With more than 25 years of experience, he previously served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Vanstar Inc., a publicly traded technology company; Global Vice President of Human Resources for the London International Group; Vice President of Human Resources and Administration for The ERTL Company, Inc.; and Director of Human Resources for Eastco Hand Tools.

 

Mr. Keegan earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Baltimore.

 

 

 

 


Frank A. Kerrigan

Chief Financial Officer

 

Frank A. Kerrigan is Chief Financial Officer of Ingram Content Group. He joined Ingram Book Group as Vice President and Controller in 1994 and was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Book Company in 1996.

 

A graduate of Vanderbilt University he holds a Certified Public Accountant certificate, along with a bachelor’s degree. Frank is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

 

 

 

 


Philip C. Ollila

Chief Content Officer

 

Phil Ollila is Chief Content Officer of Ingram Content Group Inc., the leading provider of full-service content distribution solutions for the book industry. Mr. Ollila is responsible for Ingram Content Group’s publisher facing business, and has been instrumental in leading the transformation of Ingram from a traditional wholesale service provider, into a fully integrated and relevant solutions company for clients. Ingram combines wholesale distribution, print-on-demand, digital distribution, inventory management and comprehensive worldwide services for physical and digital content.

 

In his role as Chief Content Officer, Phil leads a number of Ingram business units including wholesale merchandising, Lightning Source, Ingram Publisher Services and digital distribution through CoreSource®. Mr. Ollila also heads Ingram Content Group marketing.

 

Mr. Ollila previously served as Senior Vice President of Ingram Book Group Inc., President of Ingram Publisher Services Inc., and as President of Ingram Library Services Inc.

 

Prior to joining Ingram, Mr. Ollila spent 12 years in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with Borders Group. His last position with Borders was Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising.

 

Mr. Ollila spent 16 years in active and reserve positions with the U. S. Army. He received his master of business administration degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

 

 

 

 


David Roland

Chief Venture Capital Officer

 

David Roland is Chief Venture Capital Officer for Ingram Content Group.  Mr. Roland leads Ingram Content Group’s investment activities which include identifying and providing early stage funding for emerging technologies and services that are core to Ingram’s businesses.  In addition, Mr. Roland leads Ingram Content Group’s merger and acquisition activities.

 

David joined Ingram Book Group in 2000 as Assistant Vice President and Assistant General Counsel.  In 2002, David was named Vice President and General Counsel for Ingram’s print-on-demand business unit Lightning Source.  In 2005 he added the role of General Counsel for Ingram Digital Group, Ingram’s digital solutions business unit that included Ingram’s educational content delivery platform Vital Source Technologies, Inc.. Most recently, David held the role of Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Legal Officer for Ingram Content Group.

 

Prior to Ingram, Mr. Roland practiced with the Nashville firm Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald, specializing in corporate mergers and acquisitions work. Before relocating to Nashville, Mr. Roland held the position of General Counsel with Braun Intertec Corporation, an engineering and environmental consulting company.

 

Mr. Roland received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota in 1982 graduating summa cum laude. He received his juris doctor in 1987 from the University of Minnesota Law School graduating cum laude.

 

 

 

 


John F. Secrest

Chief Logistics Officer

 

John F. Secrest is Chief Logistics Officer, Global Operations, for Ingram Content Group. Mr. Secrest started with Ingram Book Company in 1976 and worked his way up the career ladder to key positions.


He has held positions such as Stocker; Forklift Operator; Shipping Supervisor; Manager Product Maintenance; Director, La Vergne Distribution Center; Assistant Vice President of Operations; Vice President of Logistics, Planning/Development; Vice President of Distribution; and, most recently, Senior Vice President of Logistics of Ingram Book Company, Chairman of the Board of Ingram Transportation Company, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ingram Fulfillment Services Inc., and Chief Executive Officer of Tennessee Book Company.

 

Mr. Secrest is a graduate of the Executive Master of Business Arts Program at the Kellogg School of Business.

 

 

 

 


Kent Freeman

Chief Operating Officer

Vital Source Technologies Inc.

 

Kent Freeman is Chief Operating Officer of Vital Source Technologies, Inc., where he manages sales, operations and engineering.  Vital Source, an Ingram Content Group company is a leading digital distribution provider for educational content.

 

Mr. Freeman has been with Ingram for more than 30 years.  Prior positions with Ingram include Chief Technology Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Ingram Digital Group, Senior Vice President for Business Development of Ingram Book Group, Chief Technology Officer of Ingram Book Group, President of Ingram Customer Systems, and President of Ingram Fulfillment Services. He has served as Chair of the Book Industry Study Group, a non-profit organization that provides research and standards development for the book industry, and as Chair of the Book Industry Systems Advisory Committee.

 

Mr. Freeman attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems and Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University.

 

 

 

 

 


David Taylor

President

Lightning Source Inc.

 

David Taylor is President of Lightning Source Inc., an operating unit of Ingram Content Group. Mr. Taylor joined Lightning Source UK Ltd. in 2003 as Business Development Director and was named Managing Director at the end of 2003. In 2006, he took on the newly created role of Senior Vice President, Global Sales, Lightning Source Inc. and now leads all content acquisition activity outside of North America.

 

Mr. Taylor has 25 years of experience in the UK and international book trades in a wide range of senior management positions including online bookselling, retail bookselling and library supply for both books and journals. He is a former Director of Blackwell’s international library supply business. He served on the Booksellers’ Association of the UK and Ireland’s Council for several years and is a former Chairman of the College and University Bookseller’s Group and the Internet Bookseller’s Group, the latter of which he founded. He is a regular speaker at book trade conferences and has published a number of articles on the impact that new technologies are having on the book trade supply chain. He is a member of the Society of Bookmen.


Mr. Taylor has a bachelor and a master degree in English literature from the University of Reading, England.
He has also completed a Diploma in Management Studies and an MBA. He lives in Freeland, Oxfordshire, with his wife Caroline and two sons, Harry and George.
