As the summer comes to a close, we reminisce on the biggest community service event of the season; our annual United Way campaign. Since 1887, United Way has provided education, financial stability, and health to the communities they serve. We’re committed to making an impact in the community by working with United Way to provide others with necessary resources.
Over the course of three weeks, our associates in Nashville donated time and resources to United Way through multiple fundraising events.
United Way Campaign Happenings:
Our auction was hit amongst our colleagues. We’re grateful to the local community and our associates who donated various items and services to raise money for the United Way. Many departments created baskets (like the one featured below), donated concert tickets, and contributed the latest gadgets to encourage an online bidding competition---a few of us are still wondering who won the Ed Sheeran tickets.
Along with the silent auction, most associates pledge their contribution for 2018 and the giving didn’t stop there. Ingram matches their gift to help them make their donation go even further.
Celebrate Good Times
After a successful United Way campaign, it was game time! We fired up the grill, plugged in the DJ booth, and celebrated with a carnival inspired field day that brought together associates for a day full of food and games.
Many associates challenged each other to the largest ring toss games, while others fought to stay on the mechanical bull. The dueling dunk tank brought the biggest crowd. Many of our executives waited in anticipation as our associates stepped up to the plate to dunk them.
We ended up surpassing our campaign goal, and are pleased to have been able to donate $168,890 to United Way through associate driven giving. These donations will help benefit a child in school, a family’s financial stability, or provide a family with access to affordable healthcare.
