Ingram Content Group Vice President and General Manager of Publisher Services Announces Retirement

May 11, 2022

Nashville, Tenn. (May 11, 2022) – Mark Ouimet, Vice President and General Manager of Publisher Services at Ingram Content Group (“Ingram”), will retire on June 10, 2022 after 15 years of service.

Ouimet oversees several brands of the larger Ingram Publisher Services business including the Ingram Publisher Services (IPS) brand, Publishers Group West, and Consortium as well as West Margin Press, a growing print and ebook publisher.

“From the beginning of his career as a bookseller through to his retirement from Ingram, Mark’s success has always been about people; the people he has hired, brought along as a mentor, and who have become life-long friends,” said Phil Ollila, Chief Commercial and Content Officer at Ingram. “We are fortunate that the legacy of people and their talents will make sure that Ingram Publisher Services continues to grow and thrive through the next generation. Mark’s advice and counsel to our distribution publishers will be sorely missed.”

Ouimet joined Ingram in 2007 as the Vice President of Business Development for Ingram Publisher Services after serving as an executive with a publishing company and as a buyer and manager at the Stanford Bookstore. Rising to Vice President and General Manager of IPS in 2010, Ouimet continued to lead the growth of IPS from a startup to an industry leader in publishing distribution. He served as an early leader with IngramSpark, now a transformative force in book publishing, and worked with Lightning Source introducing client publishers to additional Ingram services including print-on-demand and eBook distribution. Throughout his career, Ouimet notably hired and mentored many of the gifted present and future leaders of the book industry.

“How lucky am I to have had the opportunity to spend 40+ years in the book industry? Not many people get to spend a career surrounded by books and the incredibly smart and talented people who inhabit it,” says Ouimet. “And working at Ingram for the last 15 years has been the best part. I’ve always worked with Ingram in my other roles in the industry, but to actually be able to directly participate in such a dynamic company which fosters, encourages and promotes an entrepreneurial spirit is about as good as it gets.”

With Ouimet’s departure, Sabrina McCarthy, who currently oversees Distribution Solutions, Ingram Academic, Two Rivers and IPS UK, will assume full responsibility for the Ingram Publisher Services team and all of its brands. McCarthy has 25 years of experience in publishing with a background that ranges between sales, operations, acquisitions, and marketing. She has been a leader in the book distribution business for the past 16 years, first at Perseus and then alongside Ouimet at Ingram.
