iCurate® Complimentary Spotlight: Starred Reviews

Do you know that there are two easy ways to access titles with starred reviews in ipage? For many librarians, starred reviews are a key part of their selection process. Rather than paging through the journals to find them, you can use two features in ipage to stay on top of the titles that have received starred reviews from your favorite journal.

1. ReviewALERT standing order program – Our ReviewALERT standing order program allows you to sign up to receive lists of titles that have received starred reviews from your preferred journals for Adult or Youth materials. You simply create your enrollment with your selections, and you will receive lists of titles that match your preferences twice a month. For this program, we recommend that you use the report-only feature, which allows you to receive the lists, review them, and order using your regular process.

2. PowerSearch in ipage – The ipage Power Search gives you the option to search for titles with starred reviews in ipage. To access this feature, go to Search at the top of the screen and choose Power. The Power Search screen allows you to choose your preferred journal, a timeframe for either the review citations or book’s publication date, and whether you want to see all reviewed titles or just starred reviews. Customers who have upgraded to have access to full text reviews in ipage can also read the review right from the title detail page.
