Ingram® Backs Binc on Giving Tuesday

November 27, 2017

Nashville, Tenn. -- Ingram Publisher Services LLC supports bookstores and booksellers during Giving Tuesday with a donation of over $10,000 to Binc on behalf of its publishing clients, including those with Publishers Group West®, Consortium® Book Sales and Distribution, Two Rivers Distribution™, Ingram Academic and Ingram Publisher Services®.

“Known as the ‘bookseller’s safety net’, Binc truly makes an impact to help the book industry, and has helped boost the morale of our community,” said Mark Ouimet, VP and General Manager for Ingram Publisher Services, Publishers Group West and Consortium. “We believe the best way to thank our publishers for an amazing year is by honoring them in the most positive way possible with a donation in their honor to Binc.”

Since 1996, Binc (Book Industry Charitable Foundation) has provided over $6.5 million in support to more than 7,300 booksellers and their families.

"We are grateful for organizations like Ingram Content Group who have led the way in supporting Binc and booksellers,” said Pamela French, Binc's Executive Director. “Ingram has been a supporter for many years, and with the increased need due to four natural disasters since September, it’s donations and advocacy like this that allow us to achieve our mission. On behalf of all the booksellers helped I pass along our sincere thanks.”

“During this charitable season, we encourage our publishing cohorts to direct their attention to those working on the frontlines of selling books,” said Sabrina McCarthy, VP and General Manager – Two Rivers, Ingram Academic and International Sales. “This year was particularly hard for many bookstores and booksellers due to unpredictable circumstances like natural disasters and severe medical issues.”

Launched in 2012, Giving Tuesday aims to focus the conversation on giving efforts and to spark conversations about those doing good for the world.
