Nashville, Tenn (June 6, 2022) – As part of its growing consumer marketing services, Ingram Content Group (Ingram) announced today the launch of Ingram Marketing Advantage — a suite of fully managed, strategic marketing services aimed at helping publishers reach readers directly.
Developed for independent book publishers distributed by Ingram Publisher Services, Ingram Marketing Advantage provides customizable, full-service digital marketing strategy and execution for frontlist campaigns and backlist catalogs alongside metadata analysis and optimization. It provides these services across all formats of books.
“As our industry evolves, publishers are increasingly interested in developing effective consumer marketing reach that is coordinated with traditional, multi-channel sales and distribution. Ingram offers a set of managed services that our independent publishers have embraced because it solves the specific challenges they face when trying to do this on their own. Ingram Marketing Advantage is a powerful service that helps publishers strategically market their titles directly to readers,” said Sabrina McCarthy, Vice President and General Manager of Ingram Publisher Services.
“Ingram Marketing Advantage has consistently achieved sales growth for its clients,” said Julie Grau, Partner & Co-CEO of Spiegel & Grau. “The Ingram Marketing Advantage team is a ‘deep bench’ of digital marketing mavericks who bring a genuinely collaborative spirit to the mission of reaching and activating our target readers. They are strategic, creative, value-minded, and invested in the success of our books—and an essential component of our frontlist and backlist publishing strategy.”
Kim Brown, VP, Sales & Marketing for North America, Welbeck Publishing adds, “The Marketing Advantage team is not only a pleasure to work with, but they maximize sales without a doubt! It was great to have fresh ‘marketing eyes’ on our titles. There are no pros and cons to the program, only pros!"
Led by a team of pioneers in reader-centric, data-informed title marketing with deep industry expertise, Ingram Marketing Advantage offers multi-channel reach, access to Ingram’s proprietary consumer and market information, full title lifecycle support and more.
Key members of the Ingram Marketing Advantage team include:
• Peter McCarthy, an audience-centric, data-informed, technical and creative marketer. In his 25+ years of strategic leadership in publishing, he has led digital marketing and innovation for a variety of publishers, large scale to indie sized, working on hundreds of thousands of titles. In addition to his inhouse experience, he co-founded a marketing consultancy as well as a marketing technology company, which was acquired by Ingram Content Group.
• Jess Johns, who brings over a decade of experience in book publishing, audience research, consumer marketing and marketing technology to the Ingram Marketing Advantage team. She has worked with bestselling authors, NYT bestselling titles, Fortune 500 companies, and leading media brands.
• Agustina Casal, who has over fifteen years of publishing experience, providing independent publishers expertise in digital and e-commerce sales. She leads both the Ingram Marketing Advantage business as well as Ingram’s digital sales strategy, where she focuses on growing e-book and audio sales and expanding merchandising opportunities for Ingram’s distributed trade and academic publishers.
• Devyn Nance, who brings more than ten years of experience leading consumer focused digital marketing campaigns for USA Today and 250+ brands. She is an expert in scaling strategy and execution across social, search, display, retail and content marketing. She has worked with bestselling authors, leading country music artists and two award-winning campaigns.
“We’re thrilled to offer experienced-based, performance-oriented consumer marketing to our diverse distributed publishers with more using the Ingram Marketing Advantage services each week. Applying search, social, retail, email and content strategies, tactics and tools has enabled us to efficiently launch big books, grow backlist sales at scale, and strengthen our client connections. I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled and consistently wowed by their capabilities. We’re all excited by our rapid growth and are looking forward to the future,” said Peter McCarthy, Director Consumer Insights, Ingram Content Group.
