Ingram Content Group Now Offering Open Access Support for CoreSource Clients

February 9, 2023

NASHVILLE, TENN. (February 9, 2023) - Ingram Content Group (“Ingram”) now offers full support of Open Access titles for current users of CoreSource, Ingram’s digital asset distribution platform.

Available immediately, publishers who have or may have Open Access content can now utilize CoreSource to automate distribution to channel partners that accept OA titles.

“CoreSource is the digital asset distribution platform of choice for leading university presses and academic publishers,” says Margaret Harrison, VP of Digital Services at Ingram Content Group. “CoreSource enables publishers engaging in Open Access to streamline the delivery of their titles to the appropriate channels in ebook and print on demand through Lightning Source, ensuring the highest levels of discoverability while minimizing the effort to manage the digital supply chain.”

“At Taylor & Francis we publish books and chapters across all subjects in the humanities, social sciences, and behavioral sciences. Our Open Access Books program allows authors and their funders to publish Open Access single- or co-authored books, edited collections, and individual chapters. With CoreSource now supporting the metadata elements required for Open Access ebooks, such as funding body and license information, it will be great to be able to distribute these to our channel partners as part of our normal distribution workflow. We can be confident that our channel partners have the information they and their customers need, and that the authors and funders can get the credit for the research and publication that they fund,” says Zelah Pengilley, Content Management Analyst, Taylor & Francis Group.

CoreSource is currently distributing more than 20,000 Open Access titles from over 40 publishers. In addition to being one of the only distributors in the industry that totally supports and automates Open Access titles, CoreSource also provides full and transparent reporting along with a print-on-demand connection allowing for ultimate flexibility for publishers. The launch of fully supported Open Access within CoreSource aims to expand Ingram’s position as the leader in helping content reach its destination anywhere in the world.
