Ingram Introduces Marketing Insights

April 15, 2019

NASHVILLE, TN (March 11, 2019)– Ingram® introduces Marketing Insights, an innovative new service that tracks publishers’ books and authors across the web and alerts them to opportunities to improve discoverability and sales.

Marketing Insights was acquired by Ingram in 2017 under the name OptiQly. It is a first-of-its-kind tool that helps publishers understand how their content is performing in the marketplace through retailer and consumer activity. It monitors and analyzes a growing list of 60+ data points to surface new opportunities for sales growth. Marketing Insights recommends actions to increase discoverability and conversions based on algorithms focused on the full marketing funnel – from metadata analysis, to retailer positioning, to consumer activity.  It is now available to users of iQ, Ingram’s business intelligence platform for publishers.

“Certain online data points have been demonstrated to be correlated with – or causal of – sales, both online and offline,” said Pete McCarthy, a co-founder of OptiQly who is now Director, Digital Services at Ingram. “Data-driven marketing is improved by knowing those data points each day, which is basically humanly impossible. With Marketing Insights, we gather and interpret the data, helping publishers to save time, allocate resources, and find unrealized sales.”

“Marketing Insights is a key component in Ingram’s digital services suite,” said Ingram’s Vice President of Digital Services Marcus Woodburn. “Sitting alongside CoreSource®, iQ and other services, Marketing Insights provides an unprecedented tool for publishers interested in actively influencing the discoverability and sale of their content in the marketplace.”
